Database of Drug Safety Data Sheets (http://www.drugMSDS.com)

Purpose

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) of the U.S. Department of Labor requires all employers that formulate, stock or use FDA-Approved drugs to provide employees with access to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) if those employees could potentially be exposed to hazardous chemicals contained in those drugs. This database was initiated in September 2014 by DeLima Associates of McLean, Virginia (USA) in response to a need for a database of Safety Data Sheets for FDA-Approved drugs. While OSHA requires SDS to be provided by manufacturers for all FDA-Approved drugs, there are some exceptions based on form of drug and potential administration of the drug.

The drugMSDS database is designed to provide the full text of Safety Data Sheets issued by drug manufacturers. Safety Data Sheets can be searched by the drug trade name, the principal ingredient of the drug or by drug manufacturer’s name.

Results
The database was launched in September 2014 with over 450 safety data sheets for 275 Principal Ingredients contained in drugs produced by over 40 manufacturers.
